Heildarúttekt á jarðvegsrofi á öllu Íslandi, unnin á árunum 1992-1997. Unnið með vettvangsúttekt þar sem LANDSAT gervitunglamyndir í mælikvarða 1:100.000 voru notaðar sem grunnur við kortlagninguna. Í rofkortlagningunni er annars vegar metið um hvers konar rof er að ræða (rofflokkar) og hins vegar hversu mikið það er (rofkvarði). Rofkvarðinn er frá 0 og upp í 5 þar sem 0 þýðir ekkert rof en 5 stendur fyrir mjög mikið rof. Rofflokkunum má skipta í tvo hluta, annars vegar þeir sem tengjast gróðurlendum þ.e.; áfoksgeirar (A), rofabörð (B), dílarof (D), jarðsil (J), skriður (K) og vatnsrof (V), og hins vegar rofflokkar á auðnum sem eru; melar (M), sandar (S), sandmelar (SM), sandhraun (SH), hraun (H), moldir (O) og grjótskriður (C). <\/SPAN><\/P>
